Thermoplastic markings are extremely durable, applied at about 10 times the thickness of paint. Thermoplastic is a polymer that softens to a liquid when heated and hardens to a glassy state when cooled again. We prefer to use an alkyd thermoplastic, which contains a naturally occurring resin that is resistant to oil drippings that are common in high traffic areas.

Retroreflective glass beads can be added to increase visibility from a distance and at night. This is especially beneficial to ensuring safe navigation through areas in poor weather and lighting conditions.

Thermoplastic is also recyclable.
