Not only does sealcoating add beauty to a parking lot or driveway, but it adds protection. Without protection, asphalt has poor resistance to UV radiation. UV rays and weather break down the glue that binds the sand and gravel mixture in asphalt together. This is noticeable over time as the color changes from black to brown, and finally to grey. As the asphalt oxidizes from the UV radiation, is becomes more brittle, just like the dashboard of your car or truck when you don't use a product like Armor All® to coat and seal the surface.
